Since we're still in preseason, expect the head coaches from both teams to experiment with their lineups. Star players might enjoy limited minutes compared to a regular season game, but this evening provides a great chance to watch rookies and training camp invitees fight for the last remaining roster spots.
Los Angeles Lakers: Knocked out by the eventual NBA champion, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in the Western Conference Semifinals in 2025-2026, the Lakers are currently 2-2 in preseason. This is their last exhibition game, and as trade rumors heat up, there are some tough decisions to make on who joins the 15-man roster ahead of the home regular season opener against the Golden State Warriors on October 21.
Denver Nuggets: Closing the 2025/2026 regular season with 12 straight wins for a 54-28 record, the Nuggets suffered an upset by losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in six in the first round of the playoffs. The franchise is 2-2 in preseason, and this is its last test before facing the defending champion Thunder on October 22.
