‘Starting To See a Pattern’ — Micah Parsons Takes Issue With Dan Orlovsky’s Praise for AFC QB’s Week 8 Performance

Dan Orlovsky found his calling as a studio analyst after his 12-year playing career, spent primarily as a backup, came to an end. He has evidently become an important part of ESPN’s football coverage, even securing a multi-year extension in 2025 after his previous three-year deal expired.

However, over the years, Orlovsky has repeatedly faced criticism for some of his more controversial opinions. This time, his praise for a particular AFC quarterback caught the attention of Green Bay Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons, who took a shot at the analyst and suggested he was starting to notice a pattern.

Micah Parsons Takes Subtle Shot at Dan Orlovsky

Speaking on “First Take,” Orlovsky had immense praise for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. After Denver’s 28-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8, Orlovsky credited the young QB for his ability to deliver in clutch situations.

“Denver was the No. 1 seed last year. I remember when Denver beat LA this year, I came on and said, ‘This is one of the best teams in football. They got the most clutch quarterback in football right now.’ And it was laughed at. Bo Nix is the most clutch quarterback in the NFL,” Orlovsky said.

The former Detroit Lions QB then added, “Nix is 25-3 when trailing since the start of 2025. That’s outrageous. He’s the most clutch guy in ball right now.”

Parsons wasn’t too impressed with the praise. Although he’s still recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season, the Packers star has continued to keep up with what’s happening around the league.

“Dan Orlovsky, I’m starting to see a pattern here,”Parsons wrote, quote-tweeting Orlovsky’s segment from the ESPN show.

It’s unclear exactly what pattern Parsons was referring to, but Orlovsky has faced criticism for showing favoritism toward players represented by CAA, the same agency that represents him.

Orlovsky has notably praised Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford in the past few years, and both are represented by CAA.

But Parsons seemed to take issue with his latest comments about Nix, who currently ranks No. 27 with a PFN QB Impact Score of 68.9.

When Orlovsky asked Parsons to explain what pattern he was seeing, the Packers star replied, “You have favorites!”

The former fifth-round pick didn’t take too kindly to the accusation, ashe responded, “I’ve probably been more critical of Bo this year than anyone.”

But his claim fell on deaf ears, as Parsons immediately questioned, “Most clutch in the NFL?”

Orlovsky backed up his take, noting, “Nix is 25-3 since the start of last year when trailing. He’s flawed, but when it’s on the line, he’s the best right now, production-wise.”

Parsons didn’t respond after that.

Some of Parsons’ frustration may also come from what he sees as a lack of appreciation for his own quarterback, Jordan Love. Despite dealing with a porous offensive line and a virtually nonexistent run game, Love has been carrying much of the load for Green Bay’s offense.

The Packers are now 5-3 and firmly in the NFC playoff race. Meanwhile, Nix has thrown for fewer than 200 yards in four games this season.
