Dalton Knecht has agreed to sign with the New York Knicks on a Two-Way contract. The Los Angeles Lakers waived Knecht before the start of the regular season.
Knecht was the 17th overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft out of Tennessee. Knecht initially had success with the Lakers during his rookie season but eventually fell out of J.J. Redick's rotation. Knecht was also included in the Lakers' rescinded trade with the Charlotte Hornets for Mark Williams at the 2025 trade deadline.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings and Minnesota Timberwolves also expressed interest in Knecht.
The Knicks waived Kevin McCullar Jr. to create a Two-Way spot for Knecht.
