James Maddison returned to the Tottenham starting XI in style as he scored an absolute banger to give Spurs the lead against Coventry City.
The 29-year-old had been put through the wringer over the last couple of years due to injury troubles, and he hadn’t started a game in almost a year and a half before he was given the chance by Roberto De Zerbi to start against Coventry.
And he made it count in style with an impeccable goal. After swift and quick feet from Mohammed Kudus, Maddison, standing 22-25yards from goal, unleashed a brilliant curling first-time shot into the top left corner.
