The FIFA World Cup is just days away, and McDonald’s is getting fans ready.
Starting June 9, the fast food giant is launching a limited-time FIFA World Cup 26 Meal and FIFA World Cup 26 Happy Meal at participating restaurants worldwide. The promotion includes collectible cups featuring some of the biggest names in soccer, a new Golden McFlurry, and an entire squad of Squishmallows dressed for match day.
Let’s start with the collectibles because that’s probably what everyone is going to be talking about.
Each FIFA World Cup 26 Meal comes with one of nine collectible cups featuring soccer stars Christian Pulisic, David Beckham, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Thierry Henry, Son Heung-Min, Lamine Yamal, Alphonso Davies, and Santiago Gimenez. The lineup also includes perhaps the most unexpected soccer legend of them all: Grimace.
Fans can choose between a Big Mac and a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets meal, both served with fries, a drink, and an exclusive gold-packaged Big Mac Sauce.
And because no major McDonald’s promotion feels complete without a dessert tie-in, the chain is also launching a limited-time Golden McFlurry alongside the campaign.
The younger crowd isn’t being left out either.
McDonald’s is introducing a FIFA World Cup 26 Happy Meal featuring one of 23 soccer-themed Squishmallows collectibles. Each plush character wears a custom jersey complete with colors, crests, numbers, and McDonald’s-inspired graphics. The toys also include a scannable code that unlocks a digital soccer game through the Happy Meal website.
The launch comes as McDonald’s continues leaning heavily into collectible-driven promotions, a strategy that has helped fuel everything from Adult Happy Meals to nostalgia-focused cup collections in recent years.
This time, the company is pairing that formula with one of the largest sporting events in the world.
The campaign also includes FIFA-themed rewards in the McDonald’s app, including bonus points for customers who purchase multiple FIFA World Cup Meals during the promotion. Fans in select Canadian cities can also expect oversized soccer ball installations to appear at participating restaurants as the tournament approaches.
Whether you’re watching every match, pretending to understand the rules, or simply trying to collect all nine cups before they disappear, McDonald’s is making a strong case for turning a fast food run into part of your World Cup routine this summer.
Putting David Beckham and Grimace in the same collectible lineup might be the most ambitious crossover of 2026 so far.
