While senior winger Badredine Bouanani grabbed the headlines with a stunning maiden goal as Rangers drew 2-2 against Dundee at Dens Park, 16-year-old Ibrox prospect Kyle Glasgow produced a moment of individual brilliance that arguably topped it.
Glasgow, who is currently gaining invaluable senior experience on loan at Alloa Athletic in League One, bagged his fourth league goal of the campaign, and his fifth across all competitions, in a commanding 3-0 away victory against East Fife on Saturday, 17 October, afternoon.
Throughout the contest, Glasgow proved to be a constant threat for East Fife down the right-hand side. His mazy, direct dribbling and repeated left-footed curling efforts caused non-stop problems for the host defence, and as Alloa pushed forward, it felt like only a matter of time before the teenager found the back of the net, thus outshining his Rangers seniors who were held to a 2-2 draw at Dundee.
His reward finally arrived in the 86th minute, putting the ultimate gloss on Alloa’s victory.

Picking up the ball inside his own half, Glasgow drove towards the East Fife goal with incredible purpose and acceleration. Upon reaching the edge of the penalty box, the starlet cut inside past his marker before executing a neat one-two exchange, receiving a slick backheel pass from Owen Foster.
Without hesitation, Glasgow unleashed a curling first-time strike from range that flew past the helpless goalkeeper and into the bottom-left corner of the net. Fans can watch the goal and the rest of the best bits of play from the youngster here:
While Bouanani’s left-footed curler against Dundee demonstrated the Algerian’s £15.5million quality, Glasgow’s goal involved a full-pitch sequence, a driving run from his own half and intricate combination play before the finish. The goal also sparked conversation on X (formerly Twitter), with one fan describing the Gers starlet as a “ridiculous starlet”.
One Rangers fan labelled Glasgow as a “starboy”, while one page dedicated to Alloa Athletic described his performance as “Kyle Glasgow doing Kyle Glasgow things”.
For a player who is still only 16 years old to be regularly holding his own and dominating matches against experienced senior professionals speaks volumes about his development path within the Rangers Academy setup.
With five goals already under his belt at Alloa Athletic, and video highlights from Alloa’s official channel circulating among supporters, Glasgow’s stock is continuing to rise rapidly as Ibrox coaches keep a very close eye on his progress.
