David Edgar is thrilled for Rangers and Derek McInnes, as news has emerged from Ibrox on Tuesday afternoon.
McInnes will be keen on getting a win over his former side, Hearts, when the Light Blues visit Tynecastle on Wednesday night.
The Gers returned to winning ways following the 4-0 drubbing of St Johnstone over the weekend, but they know that Hearts are going to prove to be a more difficult prospect to deal with.

What kind of reception do you expect Derek McInnes to get during the Hearts vs Rangers game? It's the first time McInnes is returning to Tynecastle…
Ahead of the game against Hearts, McInnes told the media that Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin will both be back by December. The Gers duo have been ruled out with hamstring injuries, but are expected to return before the end of the year.
Rangers News reported that Shankland could return to individual training in November, and that is precisely in line with a return to first-team football in December. The Scotland international will require a lengthy rehab following surgery to his hamstring.
This development is something that David Edgar is thrilled with, as it will give the club a big boost going into the new year. He wrote on X: “Shanks back early December is a boost.”

In Shankland’s absence, Kevin Kelsy and Ryan Naderi have done well, and Bojan Miovski has shown that he’s capable of making an impact off the bench. However, having the club captain back will give them a different dimension in attack, something that will help with their title challenge.
