The New Orleans Pelicans have had three players make the NBA All-Rookie team over the last two seasons.
All three of those players were rewarded Tuesday.
The Pelicans exercised a fourth-year option on center Yves Missi, and third-year options on guard Jeremiah Fears and forward/center Derik Queen, the team announced.
Missi was drafted by the Pelicans with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2024 draft and was voted to the second team on the All-Rookie team. Missi, expected to be a starter for the Pelicans this season, averaged 7.5 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in his first two NBA seasons.
Fears was drafted with the No. 7 pick in the 2025 draft and averaged 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He played in all 82 games last season, becoming the first Pelicans’ player since Jonas Valanciunas in the 2023-’24 season to do that.
The Pelicans traded up in the 2025 draft to select Queen with the 13th pick. Queen played in all but one game. He averaged 11.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his first season. Queen recorded 13 double doubles and two triple doubles. Fears and Queen both were second-team selections on the All-Rookie Team last season.
The Pelicans play their season opener Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers at Smoothie King Center.
