Vasiliy Lomachenko Signs Top Rank Deal, Chases Undisputed at 130

The three-division champion plans to fight in early 2027 after signing a multi-year co-promotional deal through Loma Power Promotions.

Vasiliy Lomachenko is coming out of retirement and dropping back to super featherweight. The former IBF lightweight champion will return in early 2027 under a multi-year agreement between Top Rank and his newly formed Loma Power Promotions.

The comeback takes him back to 130 pounds, where he held the WBO belt before moving up to lightweight. Top Rank did not name an opponent, a fight date or a broadcaster in its November 5 announcement.

“I thought I would never step back into the ring again as a boxer,” Lomachenko said. “But our Lord Jesus Christ had other plans for me. I’m happy to be living this boxing life once again.”

Lomachenko Chases Undisputed at Super Featherweight

Lomachenko retired in June 2025 as IBF lightweight champion. He had stopped George Kambosos Jr. for the belt in May 2024, a year after losing his bid for the undisputed 135-pound championship against Devin Haney.

That chase now moves to 130. Top Rank chairman Bob Arum and manager Egis Klimas both identified an undisputed championship as the goal of the comeback.

“He’s accomplished so much, but he’s determined to become undisputed,” Arum said.

Lomachenko returns with an 18-3 record and 12 knockouts. The two-time Olympic gold medalist won his first professional title in his third bout and had claimed belts in three divisions by his 12th, when he stopped Jorge Linares to win a lightweight title in May 2018.

Top Rank has promoted Lomachenko since his professional debut in 2013. This time, his own promotional company will share the bill with the outfit that handled his rise through the divisions.

Lomachenko credited Klimas with pushing for a return after he had decided his fighting days were over.

“Special respect and gratitude to Egis, who, despite my firm belief that my boxing career was over, never stopped believing that we would step into the ring again. He put in a tremendous amount of work and effort to get us back in the race.”
