Stratford Rugby Club’s annual fireworks night went off with a bang as a huge crowd descended on Loxley Road for the event on Sunday.

You didn’t just need to look to the sky for entertainment, with a huge bonfire and a fire performer also taking centre stage.

Stratford Mayor Sam McNaught Barrow was on hand to get the bonfire going, leaving visitors to wrap up warm and enjoy the night.

There were plenty of food and drink options available, with hot drinks particularly needed on what was a chilly night.

Jason Savidge, chair of the club, said: "We were delighted to see such a fantastic turnout for this year's Bonfire Night, and we were honoured to have the Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon, Cllr Sam McNaught Barrow, join us to light the bonfire.

“It was a brilliant atmosphere from the moment the gates opened, with families enjoying the kids' rides and food stalls, a fantastic fire performer, and a firework display that lit up the whole of Pearcecroft.”

He added: This year's event was part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, and it was a real reminder of what the club means to the town. It's about more than rugby. It's a place where the whole community comes together.

“A huge thank you to the Mayor, our volunteers, sponsors and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make it happen, and to everyone who came along and supported the club. We're already looking forward to next year."
