Rangers fans RIDICULE ‘appalling’ Castore Fourth Kit
Rangers Fourth Kit
Rangers fourth top, allegedly leaked by Footy Headlines.com

Another month, another Rangers shirt is released.

Randomly, Rangers have elected to produce a fourth shirt this season, for reasons not particularly known, well, aside from profit.

It is, of course, under the guise of Umbro, but has been manufactured by Castore. This Castore-Umbro arrangement has been a controversial situation for Rangers fans and the club over the course of the last 18 months and isn’t set to end any time soon. It is a bit of a mess.

But Rangers fans’ reaction to the latest kit has definitely not been especially positive.

Wycombe

The fourth kit has been compared with Wycombe. Ironically enough, of course, Ibrox Noise were discussing Wycombe only yesterday in an unrelated topic to do with Alex Lowry’s loan to Motherwell from there.

As a Wycombe kit, we guess it would be okay. But the thing is, Rangers are not Wycombe. We are Rangers, and this cyan and blue-type top has definitely not gone down with great enthusiasm among the supporters.

There have been, of course, a number who do like it. Naturally that is always going to be the case. But the vast majority are rather disappointed, to say the least, with this thing and can’t quite fathom the colour scheme.

Rangers are red, white and blue. Almost every kit has a variation of these colours, or at least something very close to them.

This thing does not look like a Rangers top at all.

And of course, the crest is not one that Ibrox Noise can particularly endorse either. We never do like that weird crest with the border. Instead, we like to see our own, either the Ready crest or the proper club crest.

Endorsement

So no, Ibrox Noise does not particularly endorse this one either, and the fans en masse appear not to be terribly enthused by it.

However, it has to be said that the away kit went down like a lead balloon at the start of the season, but still sold absolutely tons, as it turned out.

It even ended up sold out despite how upset fans were by how poor it appeared to be.

It was, at the very best, a simplistic design with very little imagination, but of course, the usual corporate nonsense justified this, that and the next thing about the design choices.

As for the new one, this fourth kit is exceedingly bizarre, very un-Rangers, and we do wonder when it will actually be used.

One commenter did mention what on earth club we would ever need to use this against.

Rangers have, of course, three kits as it is: the home, the away and the third. Standard.

Adding a fourth does seem to be a cynical way to try to make money, and it’s not even a decent kit.

Is this a random gamble just to see how something entirely different would go down?

We’re not entirely sure, but at the end of the day, it’s not been a particularly popular kit.
