Don't look now, but another former Buckeye is proving once again why Ohio State is Wide Receiver U. Carnell Tate was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Month for October.
Even though the Titans are just 1-7 on the season, Tate put up solid numbers for the month. He hauled in 21 receptions for 290 yards, for a 13.8-yard average per catch, along with one touchdown. During the four-week span, the former Buckeye star led all rookies in receiving yards, and 13 of his receptions went for first downs. His breakout game came against Baltimore on Oct. 4 when he had nine catches for 145 yards. Then against Indianapolis, Tate added another 70 yards receiving, while scoring his first professional touchdown.
Tate was selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by Tennessee with the No. 4 overall pick. He became the sixth Ohio State receiver drafted in the first round in the past five years, joining Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Emeka Egbuka.
Despite being on a bad team, Tate is holding his own. He had a shoulder injury this past weekend that kept him out of Sunday's game against Cincinnati. The Titans are on a bye week, so hopefully the extra rest will help him get back on the field soon.
