The strange new tradition that has coincided with Tottenham's improved form

It's time for a new episode of Talking Tottenham with our Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold and head of football.london Matt Maltby

Tottenham Hotspur are set to get their share of a big pot of cash this week as UEFA reimburse clubs for their international involvement

Tottenham Hotspur boss Roberto De Zerbi and his team are now pushing in the right direction

Tottenham have started to finally improve their results and it seems to have coincided with some rather romantic moments.

Spurs have lifted themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table and jumped up the standings followed a draw with 10 men at Manchester United and then victories against Coventry at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, only their second win there in 42 attempts.

Both the first game at Old Trafford and the victory in SW6 were sealed with a kiss. When football.london asked Roberto De Zerbi what he said to Rodrigo Bentancur in the dressing room after his red card in Manchester, the Italian said: "I kissed Rodrigo, and I said thanks, because it's clear it's a mistake from Rodrigo, because it's not the right reaction in football, but now Tottenham needs to react.

"Sometimes the reactions are not nice, not positive for the team, but I think in that moment, in 10 players, maybe we played with more courage, we played with more energy, and we changed the game."

Then on Saturday, while walking on to the team coach after making his return from a hamstring injury, Pedro Porro planted a cheeky kiss on the back of De Zerbi's neck as he was undertaking his club interview.

Of course there was far more to Tottenham's improved form than a couple of coincidental lip smackings and our Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold and head of football.london Matt Maltby discussed what's going on in De Zerbi's side in the latest episode of Talking Tottenham.

The duo dived into the performance of Mateus Fernandes, the wonder goal from Mathys Tel as well as Cole Palmer's red card and began looking ahead to Saturday's derby against Crystal Palace.
