Liverpool defender Ronald Araujo has shared his thoughts on the Reds' title ambitions this season and is very much in agreement with his teammates.
Andoni Iraola 's men have been somewhat overlooked in the title race this season, despite a relatively promising start to the campaign. Across all competitions so far, they have suffered just one defeat against Manchester City and are currently fifth in the Premier League standings.
Victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday would move Liverpool into the top four and within three points of the top two. The Reds are also one of five teams to have won all three of their Champions League matches so far.
One of the driving forces behind Liverpool's promising start to the campaign is improved defensive solidity. Right back has been something of a problem position for the club since Trent Alexander-Arnold 's exit in 2025, so Araujo's emergence in the role has been a welcome boost.
The Uruguay international joined the club on a season-long loan from Barcelona in the summer and has quickly established himself as a fan favorite. So much so, fans are already calling for his move to be made permanent to ensure he remains a fixture in the side.
Speaking ahead of Sunday's meeting with Arsenal, Araujo was asked about Liverpool's title ambitions, and he noted that a club of this size and stature should always be competing for silverware.
"Well ultimately, what I’ve told you, we are convinced we have a great team and we have to compete for all of the titles," he said in an interview with Sky Sports this week.
“A club like Liverpool, with the grandeur it has and all of the trophies it has won, we have to go for everything - the cups, whatever they are, the Champions League, the Premier League, we have to go for everything and aim for the highest, so I think that’s the mentality and that’s what we go for."
That sentiment was shared by teammate Alexis Mac Allister, who was also asked about Liverpool's ambitions this week. Much like Araujo, the Argentina international, who is already a Premier League winner with the club, promised the Reds would fight for every trophy for as long as possible.
"We know that in the Carabao Cup we are close, but for us Premier League and Champions League are really, really important, so we are going to fight for every trophy, FA Cup as well," Mac Allister also explained in an interview with Sky Sports.
"If we have the chance to win trophies we are going to go for it, and I think we have a coaching staff and a group of players that shows every single game that we want to win.
"That's being successful for me, for the team. I feel to have that bond with the fans is already pretty important, so hopefully it continues like this and we can win some trophies this year."
