Winning a monthly award is always a great sign that a team is moving in the right direction. For Martin Ho, the recognition highlights a highly productive opening month where the squad executed his plans and put vital points on the board. The players clicked early on, making life easier for the coaching staff as they worked to blend new arrivals into the starting eleven.

Speaking to the media, the Tottenham boss praised his team for their efforts during that opening block of fixtures. He noted that the group adapted well to tactical tweaks and managed to bring fresh faces into the fold without losing their rhythm on the pitch.

“Over the course of September, the players delivered good performances,” Ho explained. “We started to see new players integrated and started with four good games.”

While he was pleased with the overall points tally, the manager still saw plenty of room for improvement. He pointed out the tough clash against Liverpool as a game where the team had to dig deep. However, he was largely satisfied with the football on display during that initial run.

“Over the course of those [four] games, apart from Liverpool, our performances were okay,” Ho stated. “We showed more of what we want to be about.”

Keeping Feet On The Ground

Football changes quickly, and a good month can easily be forgotten if standards drop. Ho claimed that the hard work is only just beginning. Despite the September success, the transition into October brought a sudden reality check.

The team suffered a defeat against London City Lionesses in the cup, bringing a halt to their winning streak. The manager did not shy away from that disappointment. When discussing the positive steps his team took in September, he quickly followed up with a blunt assessment of their recent cup exit.

“Not the London City game in October, though,” he admitted frankly.

Securing the monthly prize proves that Martin Ho has Tottenham playing the right way. Now, the manager and his players are to shake off that cup defeat and get back to the exact same standards that won them the September award.
