After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.
Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.
Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before starting his own website, which focused on football and MMA content.
That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express, and Manchester Evening News.
Following that, Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GiveMeSport as a Premier League editor.
As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.

Peter Schmeichel has blasted club owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe for appointing Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada, and accused them of hating Man Utd.
The Red Devils have started the season poorly with just two wins in 12 games in all competitions this season, but INEOS have opted to give manager Michael Carrick more time to turn things around, and he will still be in the dugout when they take on Chelsea this weekend in the Premier League.
The team were battered by Bournemouth last weekend, losing 3-0 at Old Trafford, but the attention from the angry crowd was turned towards the board and ownership rather than the manager, with chants calling for them to sell up, and for senior staff members to be sacked or leave.
Following the club's decision to keep Carrick on and give him a chance to turn things around, Peter Schmeichel appeared on The Daily Overlap and was asked what needs to happen and be fixed at Old Trafford, and his answer called out the ownership and the decisions made at boardroom level.
"I think the answer is in our history," he said. "We've had two really, really successful periods in our history by doing exactly the same thing.
"I'm not talking about personnel. There was one strong manager. It was what was being done. Building from within, building within a certain framework, a culture, have a certain environment. We've both been in that environment. We know exactly what it's like and what it's supposed to be as well.
"Now we don't do that. We have people who openly, in their playing careers, stated that they hated Manchester United. Playing for clubs that were enemies of Manchester United. With very little experience, suddenly they're in decision-making jobs at Manchester United."
When asked to clarify if he was speaking about Jason Wilcox, Schmeichel didn't hesitate.
"I think he's one of them. I just don't understand why he's there when he played for Leeds. You're supposed to hate Man Utd, he hated Man Utd. Obviously with Blackburn as well that year when they won the Championship, and beat us to it in the last round.
"Jim [Ratcliffe] has brought Omar [Berrada] from Manchester City. Now he brings Jason Wilcox, he brings the guy who was the head of the academy at Man City. We're not Man City. We're Manchester United. This is why I talk about history and culture and tradition. There's a certain way of being Manchester United.
"If you haven't been in there before, you don't know what it is."
When INEOS came in to take over from the Glazers as the people running the football side of things at Man Utd, they made a lot of promises. But they have failed to deliver anything, while constantly making decisions to alienate fans and cut costs.
It's no surprise then that, as a result, fans have grown sick of their mismanagement and decision-making, and many want them to join the Glazer family in selling their stake in the company and leaving the club.
Schmeichel's point is one that resonates with the fan base. If you can't have the best of the best in roles, then having people who understand the ethos and culture of the club is important, and neither Wilcox nor Berrada seem to do that.
Bringing them in from rivals was a risky move that has backfired for Ratcliffe, and considering their links to rivals, it's not a shock that fans have turned quickly. It's time for a total reset at Old Trafford, and clearing out the boardroom as well as on the pitch may be exactly what is needed.
