Michael Carrick has shared injury updates on Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw during his pre-match press conference for Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Leeds United.
The 45-year-old Manchester United manager is searching for the Red Devils’ first Premier League win since the 5-2 comeback win over Ipswich Town in August.
United are 13th in the Premier League table and the Red Devils have won once, picked up three draws and suffered two defeats in their opening six league matches.
Here is everything United fans need to know about the state of Michael Carrick’s first-team squad from Friday’s media briefing at the Carrington training complex.
Is this the least confidence you have ever had for Man Utd vs Leeds? Tell us your predictions…
Even in our current form? I wish I shared the optimism for a win.
I think it's going to be a draw. But man, Carrick really needs a win with this one. I'm going to say 2-2 for this match.
I fully expect United to come away from Elland Road with three points. Carrick is getting tactics together at last abd Martinez comments will only inspire the team thus weekend. 3 - 1 ?

Kobbie Mainoo’s absence from the Atletico Madrid match was a blow for Michael Carrick after the 21-year-old was not involved in training before the trip to Spain.
Carrick confirmed ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash that Mainoo picked up an unspecified injury in Man Utd’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham at Old Trafford.
“We’ll see on Luke and Kobbie,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.
Luke Shaw has been unable to maintain his injury-free consistency from last season and the 31-year-old Man Utd left-back’s injury woes have caught up with him again.
The England star was not part of the United squad that travelled to Spain on Tuesday for the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid due to injury.
Benjamin Sesko did not represent Slovenia during the October international break due to an ongoing shin problem that has haunted him since his debut season.
Carrick confirmed that the injury was not the same one as before, but the shin-related issue kept Benjamin Sesko out of the Tottenham and Atletico Madrid clashes.
“Ben is still undergoing a couple of checks,” Carrick added on Friday.
“Before we update the timelines, we’re trying to be clear on what that looks like.”
Carrick’s side have been without Noussair Mazraoui for the Premier League clash against Tottenham and the Champions League fixture against Atletico Madrid.
Noussair Mazraoui has been recovering from a knock that he sustained during Morocco’s encounter with Lesotho in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers last month.
Was Rashford a victim of hype and unfair expectation? Or did he let elite status slip from his grasp?
I think Rashford was never that guy. He’s had a good career but never destined to be one of the world’s absolute best
Carrick has not been able to rely on Patrick Dorgu in recent weeks after the 21-year-old Denmark international picked up a hamstring injury in the October break.
The Man Utd boss has already confirmed that Patrick Dorgu will be out for “probably a number of weeks” after his injury against Wales in the Nations League.
Man Utd shot-stopper Tom Heaton will continue his run on the sidelines at the Premier League club after his pre-season injury in the summer.
The 40-year-old is recovering from a hamstring injury that forced him off in Man Utd’s 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain at the Ullevi Stadium in August.
The Red Devils have been without Manuel Ugarte this season and the 25-year-old Uruguay star has been recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury.
Manuel Ugarte underwent surgery on the injury that he picked up during Uruguay’s World Cup campaign in the summer and is expected to return for United in 2027.
