Tampa Bay Rays star Junior Caminero left his team's season-preserving World Series Game 4 win limping and in obvious pain.
Known more for his power than speed, an already limping Caminero burst from first to third on a Liam Hicks single to left after leading off the 12th inning by reaching base on a throwing error by Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Joey Ortiz.
Caminero came out of his slide to third visibly limping, and slowly walked to the dugout when he was replaced by pinch runner Cedric Mullins. Mullins scored Tampa Bay's winning run moments later on a Ben Williamson walk-off single to right, giving the Rays a 4-3 win and a chance to play again in Game 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Caminero's injury status was not immediately available after Game 4, so it's unclear how the limp will impact his availability for Game 5, which will be played at 8 p.m. ET Wednesday at Tropicana Field.
Speaking after the game, Rays manager Kevin Cash spoke to Caminero's importance to the team, saying, "He'll play tomorrow with one leg. I'll make sure of it."
Caminero hit .267 with 42 home runs and 101 RBIs in the 2026 regular season and is in the race for AL MVP honors.
