Scotland boss explains inclusion of Rangers star in squad

The Rangers left-back, who can also play in midfield, has been called up to the national squad for their games against North Macedonia and Switzerland in November.

His selection is a reward for his impressive form since joining Rangers on loan from AEK Athens.

He was left out of the squad for the last camp but has been given the chance to win his first cap this time around.

Pocognoli said: "We have a list of players that we select regarding the performance at their clubs, but also the style of play or the way that we want to play.

"We have some missing players around the left side.

"So, combined with his quality and what we are looking for on the pitch, it's a logical choice for me and it can be very useful for the system that we want to play."
