Fakhar Zaman's century trumped Kamindu Mendis' ton as Pakistan secured a three-wicket win in the final against Sri Lanka to clinch the tri-series. Mendis' 131 and Pavan Rathnayake's 77 were instrumental in Sri Lanka posting 325 for 8. Pakistan's chase was powered by Zaman's 127, along with important contributions from Saad Baig (74) and Arafat Minhas 31-ball 61 as Pakistan overhauled the target with 1.3 overs to spare.

Sri Lanka made a steady start after being asked to bat, with Avishka Fernando and Kamindu Mendis negotiating the new ball before gradually shifting gears. Fernando struck two fours and a six off Naseem Shah in the sixth over to inject some momentum while Kamindu hit a maximum off Shaheen Afridi in the 10th over, taking Sri Lanka to 51 for 0. Kamindu was given out caught behind off Arafat Minhas but successfully overturned the decision on review. Pakistan, meanwhile, bowled some tight overs, including a maiden from Haris Rauf to Fernando in the 17th, before Salman Agha capitalised in the next, trapping Fernando lbw for 38.

Kamindu ended a boundary drought and went past fifty while Kusal Mendis launched Rauf for a six. But Agha produced a moment of brilliance to dismiss Kusal, taking a sharp return catch to leave Sri Lanka at 109/2 in the 22nd over. Pakistan had an opportunity to put the brakes on the innings, but Kamindu and Pavan Rathnayake ensured Sri Lanka made good progress. The pair put on a century stand, the scoring rate picked up, and milestones followed as Kamindu reached his maiden ODI century while Rathnayake brought up his fourth 50-plus score in the series, taking Sri Lanka past 250 in the 41st over.

The third-wicket pair added 146 before the partnership ended when Kamindu was trapped lbw by Afridi. Dasun Shanaka smashed a six and two fours in a quickfire 17 off nine balls before Afridi dismissed him, while Rauf accounted for Rathnayake and Naseem sent Janith Liyanage back, as Sri Lanka lost five wickets for just 29 runs. However, Sahan Arachchige and Maheesh Theekshana added some useful runs towards the end to help Sri Lanka set a challenging target for Pakistan.

Pakistan's chase began with a couple of setbacks as Dilshan Madushanka bagged the wickets of Maaz Sadaqat and Babar Azam in his first two overs. Fakhar Zaman and Saad Baig ensured that the innings did not stagnate in their bid to consolidate. Zaman struck maximums wile Baig dealt in regular boundaries, taking Pakistan to 50 for 2 after 10 overs. The pair maintained a steady scoring rate, with Baig bringing up his maiden ODI fifty and Zaman crossing fifty as well, with the century partnership sandwiched between the milestones.

Pakistan crossed 150 in the 26th over before the 149-run third wicket stand came to an end when Baig handed a catch back to Theekshana to depart for 74 off 75, with 11 fours in his outing. Zaman, meanwhile, continued unperturbed as he brought up his 12th ODI hundred and cleared the fence regularly. He was eventually bowled by Madushanka, with his 99-ball knock including six sixes and 11 fours. Salman Agha followed a short while later, bowled by Dunith Wellalage, leaving Pakistan needing 96 off the last 13 overs, which became 82 off the last 10 overs.

Pakistan went through a dry spell, without any boundary, for 10 overs before Arafat Minhas struck a four off Shanaka in the 43rd over, and another boundary off Asitha Fernando in the 45th. Hasan Nawaz's scoring was on the slower side but he supported Minhas in building a partnership as they brought the equation to 46 off the last five overs. A couple of good overs for Pakistan, which included sixes for Minhas off Shanaka and Madushanka, made it 18 off 18. Minhas brought up a 28-ball fifty with a six off Fernando, followed by another maximum and a four before he was eventually dismissed. Faheem Ashraf fell in the same over but Pakistan got over the line when Afridi struck a six off Madushanka in the penultimate over.

Brief scores: Sri Lanka 325/8 in 50 overs (Kamindu Mendis 131, Pavan Rathnayake 77; Shaheen Afridi 2-50) lost to Pakistan 331/7 in 48.3 overs (Fakhar Zaman 127, Saad Baig 74, Arafat Minhas 61; Dilshan Madushanka 3-63) by 3 wickets.
