The Boston Bruins (10-4-1) are closing out a two-game homestand on Monday night. They will host the Vegas Golden Knights (9-5-1) for the first of two meetings between the teams this season.
The Bruins had a strong October, having gone 9-4-1 with an eight-game point streak in the middle of it all (7-0-1). They sit at the top of the Atlantic Division with 21 points. The Canadiens are one point behind the Bruins, and the Red Wings, who sit at the bottom, are only six points back.
The Bruins still rank inside the top 10 for both goals for (3.67) and goals against (2.40) per game. The Golden Knights rank 10th in both goals for (3.47) and goals against (2.93) per game.
The Golden Knights are ranked second in the Pacific Division. They sit five points back from the Edmonton Oilers. They are coming off a 5-2 home loss to New Jersey, and this game opens a three-game road trip for Vegas.
The Bruins and Golden Knights split the season series last year, with the home team winning each time.
The Bruins will skate at TD Garden at 10:30 AM. Updates from Marco Sturm will follow.
