Ipswich Town - Darragh McCann undergoes second meniscus surgery

The 18-year-old left-back missed the second half of last season after suffering a tear in his lateral meniscus which required surgery.

McCann, who signed his first professional contract at the club in the summer, was on the road to recovery but has now suffered a new setback.

He revealed that he has undergone surgery again on his his lateral meniscus which will see him face some more time out of action.

"Every person has their own challenges," McCann wrote on his Instagram page.

"And I will overcome mine. Trust the process. This story will end up a good one."

The Northern Irishman joined Town’s academy from Glentoran in 2024 after being scouted by the Blues playing for Northern Ireland U16s in the Victory Shield.

McCann helped his country reach the final of that tournament but they were beaten 3-1 by the Republic of Ireland.

He had been a regular for Town's U18s side since moving to Portman Road.
