Steven Clifford has shared another positive update about Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh that the fans will love.
The Four Lads Had a Dream podcast host has been a source for reliable news coming out of Ibrox in recent years, and sat down with Cavenagh and a few other members of the hierarchy last week.
In that meeting, they discussed the state of the club, Dan Purdy’s future, and plans for the January transfer window, among other things.
How much would you be happy to sell him for in the summer?
Clifford told Rangers Review: “With regards to Andrew Cavenagh, he’s about to sell his business for six billion I think it is and he’s sitting in a room with supporters telling us that he listens to podcasts and he listens to our opinion and everything else and it’s incredible.
“So for a guy like that, as important as he is and with the power that he has at our football club and to be involved with the fans and everything else, I think it’s tremendous.”
Rangers fans will be delighted to see Cavenagh being so open and candid with them and addressing all of their worries. It’s also a good thing to see him speaking about the January transfer window months in advance so that nobody gets their hopes up high.
As Clifford mentioned, Cavenagh is selling his business for billions, and could much rather be anywhere else. However, he’s choosing to be with the supporters and address their qualms.
This is unlike past regimes at the club, who have had a fraught relationship with the fanbase. Cavenagh has also been to away games and spoken with the supporters, so it’s clear that he cares a great deal.
Hopefully, the hierarchy continue their good work behind the scenes and lay the foundations for success on the field of play. Finally, the right manager appears to be in place, and the squad looks ready to challenge for and potentially clinch the domestic treble.
