In a recent appearance on the ALL NBA Podcast, NBA insider Marc Stein gave some insight into where the New Orleans Pelicans are at with potentially trading Trey Murphy III and Herb Jones. The Pelicans are reportedly looking for multiple first-round picks for each of Murphy or Jones.

"I imagine that Herb Jones' name will be suggested as a dream target. And look again, the Thunder have picks galore to offer because teams have been trying to pilfer for Herb Jones from the Pelicans for ages now," Stein said. "And New Orleans last season basically was telling teams, trade Trey Murphy and Herb Jones if they are not untouchable, it's pretty dang close. You're going to have to offer us three firsts for Trey Murphy or two firsts for Herb Jones."

There has been speculation surrounding Murphy and Jones in trades for well over a year now. As the Pelicans have struggled to put a winning product on the floor, teams have expressed interest in both wings. New Orleans has held firm in looking for multiple picks for each player.

This season, Jones is coming off the bench and has seen his playing time dip to under 20 minutes per game. That has wing-needy teams, like the Oklahoma City Thunder, getting linked to trading for the defensive-minded wing.
