Luis Enrique lauds PSG’s mentality after comeback win

Paris Saint-Germain proved their mentality in their 3-1 comeback win over Strasbourg, so says Luis Enrique.

Two-time European champions PSG fell behind to Giovanni Reyna's effort in the 17th minute at Stade de la Meinau.

However, a late turnaround secured a dramatic victory, with Illia Zabarnyi's 77th-minute leveller paving the way for substitutes Ousmane Dembele, who had earlier missed a penalty, and Desire Doue to clinch the three points.

PSG have now won their last six games in all competitions. Only Barcelona, who Luis Enrique's team face in the Champions League on Tuesday, have a longer current winning streak among teams from the top five European leagues.

And Luis Enrique was thrilled with his team's mentality.

"The teams playing against us have extra motivation, and that is what is difficult to manage when you are a player for a team like PSG," he said.

"But I'm happy. We expected to have difficulties, but we started the match positively. We needed that first goal to feel comfortable in the game.

"Instead, our opponents scored, which led to a loss of confidence and shaped the remainder of the first half. But I think we took control of the match again in the second half and, after bringing on some fresh legs and making use of the quality we have on the bench, we won the match.

"Mentality is clearly important when you play this kind of match. To win what we want to win, we need every player, and we need to be ready to compete in every match, whatever the circumstances.

"It wasn't easy for the players who get less playing time to perform well, but I think we showed our mentality. Clearly, there are still things we can improve, but that's to be expected."

Zabarnyi scored his first goal since September 2025, ending a run of 34 matches without a goal in all competitions.

"We knew it was going to be tough and we prepared for it. Once again we showed our mentality," the defender said.

"We conceded a goal but we didn't stop playing. We created chances and we still played our game and the most important thing is that we never gave up.

"I am glad that I could score and give something back to the team."
