Laciné Megnan-Pavé (16) has extended his contract with Montpellier HSC until 2029, the club have officially announced.
Heavily courted by Paris Saint-Germain, who were reportedly even prepared to pay €15m to secure his services last summer, the young striker ultimately remained at the club where he came through the ranks, persuaded to stay by chairman Laurent Nicollin.
In recent months, Chelsea, Arsenal and FC Barcelona had also expressed an interest in signing the French prodigy, who, at 15 years, 10 months and 26 days, became the youngest player in MHSC’s history to sign his first professional contract.
Having finally been thrown into the deep end of professional football this season, Megnan-Pavé has already scored two goals and provided one assist in seven appearances (five as a starter) since the start of the 2026-27 Ligue 2 season. A France Under-16 international, he received his first call-up to the Under-17 squad in early October.
