Borough footballer Garry Gibbs signs professional Luton deal

The 18-year-old came through Enfield Borough’s youth ranks before making his senior debut for the club at 17 during the 2024/25 season.

Gibbs joined Borough’s Under-16s before stepping up to the Under-18s, where his performances earned him a first-team chance.

His senior debut gave him an early taste of men’s football, and he went on to make several first-team appearances that season.

Gibbs later joined Barnet’s football education programme before returning to Enfield Borough in the 2025/26 season for more senior experience.

He made an immediate impact, scoring twice in a cup match against May & Baker.

Gibbs also spent time at other clubs, but Enfield Borough gave him chances at both youth and senior level.

His performances earned him a trial with Luton Town, where he impressed enough to win his first professional contract.

Gibbs grew up and went to school in Enfield, making him a product of the borough’s football community and its grassroots pathway to the professional game.

Enfield Borough’s decision to give him senior football at 17 was a key step, exposing him to older and more experienced players.

That experience, combined with his time at Barnet and elsewhere, helped Gibbs earn his chance with Luton.

He now starts his professional career with the experience he gained playing football in Enfield.
