Raiders Week 7 team captains vs Rams includes rookie for first time

The rewards based captain system continues for the Raiders. This week the captains are T DJ Glaze (offense), S Treydan Stukes (defense), and Isaiah Pola-Mao (special teams).

Glaze was name one of those whose stock is rising right now after holding down the fort at right tackle the first part of the season. One could argue he's been the most consistently solid offensive lineman the Raiders have.

Stukes becomes the first rookie to be named captain for the Raiders this season. He is coming off a game which featured several nice pass breakups and solid tackles in open space and was the only player on defense against the Bills to be named a Baller for the game.

As it happens, the man who Stukes beat out for his spot at safety was Pola-Mao. But all the veteran did was shift back to the outstanding special teams player he always was. He had three combined special teams tackles (two solo) in last Sunday's game.

As of yet, the Raiders have not had a repeat captain. This week Michael Mayer or Tre Tucker might have been worthy, but both have already been captains this season and Glaze was due for the honor for his body of work this season.
