The New England Patriots and Chicago Bears are riding high entering their Week 7 primetime matchup.
Drake Maye and the Patriots are 4-2 after three straight victories, including Sunday against the New York Jets. After his slow start to the season, Maye has been lights out during New England's winning streak (11 total touchdowns, 1 interception). The short week will be a challenge, though, as the injuries have piled up for the Patriots.
On the other side, Caleb Williams returned from his three-game absence Sunday and led Chicago to a win in Atlanta. The Bears pulled ahead 31-7 in the fourth quarter before the Falcons fought back to make it 31-23 in the end. Williams was efficient, completing 30 of 36 passes while the Bears controlled the ball for more than 40 minutes to move to 4-2.
Williams and Maye — the Nos. 1 and 3 picks in the 2024 draft, respectively — will face off for the second time in their young careers. The Patriots beat the Bears 19-3 at Soldier Field in 2024 when the star quarterbacks were rookies on struggling teams. Plenty has changed since then, including both coaches and supporting casts, so Thursday should look a lot different.
Will New England extend its winning streak to four? Or will Chicago protect home field? Here's what to know for Patriots-Bears:
The Patriots and Bears will play on Thursday, Oct. 22, at Soldier Field in Chicago.
