On a lovely day for football, Chard v Stockwood played out a frustrating 0-0 draw in front of a bumper crowd, no doubt buoyed by the news a planning application for Chard Town's new ground has been approved.

Playing up the hill in the first half, Chard had the better of the play without ever really creating a goalscoring opportunity.

The second half was very much the same, although Chard did create a few opportunities, but Jake Davey, James Boyland and Luca Manley were unable to convert.

The game ended 0-0 and it was penalties that had to decide the winner.

Stockwood Wanderers' first penalty was well saved by Jason Contreras, then Chard failed to score with their 1st attempt.

All the rest were scored.

Then Stockwood Wanderers' final penalty was saved again by Jason Contreras, so it was left to Luca Manley to secure the route into the Q/F with a coolly taken penalty.

With Combe St Nicholas FC winning their game against Worle, it has set up an interesting derby cup tie on November 21.

Kick off is 2pm.
