PLAYER RATINGS from Solihull Moors 1-2 Carlisle United

Some good early handling, long first-half kicks often came right back and lacked protection for goal, ahead of a quieter second half.

MORGAN FEENEY – 7

Decisive impact from the captain, who led Carlisle’s recovery with a composed equaliser and defended from there with his usual commitment.

TOM ANDERSON – 6

His experience got him out of a couple of edgy moments, and he made an important early block from Wodskou. But then injury cut short his afternoon.

BRAD NICHOLSON – 5

One of many who brought little quality to proceedings on the ball, while his long throws yielded nothing and he was among those at fault as hosts got in front.

LEO DURU – 6

In the game’s most moribund periods, Duru tried to add some urgency, but end product was lacking. Provided some good drive as they forced their way back, and by the end was one of their all-round better performers once more.

JOSH WILLIAMS – 5

Recalled on the left but was seldom able to test Solihull. Made a couple of second-half inroads but there was nothing at the end of it. Replaced on the hour.

HARVEY BUNKER – 6

United’s midfield lacked any great control or purpose for an hour. Bunker was more assured after Elliot made changes and things improved in front of him.

CALLUM WHELAN – 6

Struggled to get any foothold in midfield for a long stretch of things, but played a useful part in Carlisle’s comeback with some smarter ball play and good cross for Ajiboye’s goal.

TEDDY JENKS – 5

Seldom looked like making any meaningful mark on the game, a couple of breaks from midfield aside. Carlisle lacked poise and control in the centre and Jenks was eventually hooked.

REGAN LINNEY – 5

Nowhere near his most dangerous standards, Linney almost got in late in the first half but his other attempts to apply pressure did not bring much to write home about. Went off hurt.

MICAH OBIERO – 6

A couple of glimpses of goal he couldn’t quite see through. Toiled to no avail for much of first half, but was a better focal point as Carlisle built their improved spell later in the game.

Subs: Kenton Richardson – Steady showing and his challenge kept pressure on for equaliser. 6

Miguel Azeez – Positive on ball amid fightback. 6

David Ajiboye – Sharp instincts to win it for Carlisle. 7

Ryan Galvin – Decent cameo in place of Nicholson. 6

Stephen Wearne – Busy in the comeback effort. 6

Star man – Morgan Feeney. Carlisle’s poor start to this game required a show of character and, typically, Feeney was the man to step forward and provide it first - and United were much better after his well-taken equaliser.
