Fantasy Football Week 7 Early Waiver Wire: Omar Cooper Jr. leads group of young wide receivers worth adding

By now you've likely settled in with your 2026 fantasy football rosters and know what you have and what needs improvement. We have four teams on bye again in Week 7, with the Bills, Commanders, Chargers and Jaguars not in action. That will create plenty of lineup voids, on top of an ever-growing injury list, forcing you to make some streaming decisions off the wire.

We're here to offer up a few early options as we go into Week 7.

Omar Cooper Jr., WR, Jets (4% rostered on Yahoo)

The Jets got the rookie WR out of Indiana back in the lineup in Week 6 against the Patriots after he missed four straight games with an ankle injury. Cooper's presence was immediately felt with a 6-103-1 line, good for 19.3 fantasy points on the day. Isaiah Williams and Tim Patrick had been playing elevated snaps but that changed with Cooper back, which makes sense given the draft capital invested in the young wideout.

It's unclear when Adonai Mitchell (finger) will return, which bodes well for Cooper operating opposite Garrett Wilson in the Jets offense. We know New York will be in positive passing scripts most weeks as well.

We may not see Cooper do this every week because, well, it's still the Jets. But the talent and opportunity are there, so it may be wise to chase that upside by adding Cooper in deeper formats.

Jaylin Noel, WR, Texans (7% rostered)

The Texans offense came alive in a tough matchup against the Jaguars in London in Week 6, scoring 34 points in a last-second win. If that trend continues and C.J. Stroud keeps this up, you're going to want a piece of this unit going forward.

Noel has quietly strung together three straight games with double-digit fantasy points, producing 3-85, 5-41-1 and 4-107-1 over that stretch. The volume remains tough to trust but Noel is doing the most with his targets and opportunities, which should help his case for more snaps. Houston has a winnable matchup against the Giants in Week 7 before the bye, which is tough timing for this pickup. Noel gives you a strong upside flex play in PPR formats.

Travis Hunter, WR, Jaguars (7% rostered)

In continuing our trend of young wide receivers to target off the wire, Hunter had the second best offensive game of his young career in Week 6. Hunter turned four targets into four catches for 59 yards and a TD against the Texans to finish with 13.9 fantasy points. In formats that also count defensive stats, Hunter also had three tackles (one solo), a pass defensed and an interception.

If you're in an IDP league and Hunter is still floating around, grab him immediately. We don't know if this offensive usage is going to continue, but clearly the Jags should make Hunter more of a priority in the passing game. He could become the third/fourth option in an above-average passing game.

Similar to Cooper, Hunter is an upside grab off the wire, a player who could pay dividends later after the Week 7 bye.
