There will be no USC Trojans football this weekend; however, there will still be a ton of Trojan representation in the NFL for Week 9. Caleb Williams' ascension is continuing, and many NFL teams will be in desperate need of a former Trojan having a big performance.
Here are 5 NFL games USC fans would enjoy watching this weekend:
Makai Lemon had a dominant career for the USC Trojans, and to start, his NFL rookie season has not matched that. In the last few weeks, however, he has started getting close to expectations. His production has increased, and he has been the Philadelphia Eagles' leading receiver for back-to-back weeks. This week could very well be his breakout game, with a gun-slinging Joe Milton taking over.
There is no NFL team that represents the USC Trojans more than the Houston Texans. There will be multiple former Trojans on the Texans battling it out to get a much-needed win for their team. Woody Marks will be the featured back for another week, and against a struggling Los Angeles Chargers defense, he has a good chance to have great production. Justin Herbert has been struggling mightily this season; it will be a game full of opportunities for safety Calen Bullock to get an interception. On the other side, Tuli Tuipulotu will get a great opportunity to dominate the Texas offensive line. This game should be full of Trojans making plays.
No Sam Darnold this week due to injury, but it will be up to the former USC Trojans on the Seattle Seahawks defense to come up clutch for their team this week. Leonard Williams and Uchenna Nwosu will be two big factors to watch in this game.
There have been few players who have been more exciting to watch this season than Caleb Williams. He will get another primetime game to show he is one of the best players in the league and get closer to his potential MVP campaign. Caleb has been the best former Trojan in the NFL, and Sunday Night Football will be a nice chance to see him put on a show.
Carson Wentz has taken over as starting quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, and that bodes well for receiver Jordan Addison. He needs to pick things up, and the Buffalo Bills' secondary, along with a more aggressive wide receiver, should give him a chance to have a breakout game.
