A World Cup winner is headed to Wakefield Trinity, with wheelchair star Jack Brown named as the club’s new wheelchair head coach.
Brown, who is one of the most recognisable and biggest players in the wheelchair game today, has agreed a deal to become Trinity’s new wheelchair boss.
The 2019 golden boot winner was named the Player of the Match in the 2026 Super League Grand Final between Halifax and Leeds, and he will combine his new role with his playing career at the Panthers.
This won’t be the first head coach role of Brown’s career, having overseen Queensland to four successive Wheelchair State Challenge triumphs between 2021 and 2024.
Brown will begin duties following his trip to Australia, having been selected for England at this year’s Rugby League World Cup.

Commenting on the move, Brown said: “I’m really excited to get stuck into my role as Wheelchair Head Coach and to continue the growth of the team here at Wakefield Trinity.
“There’s been so much success here at Wakefield over the past couple of seasons which comes down to the foundations that have been set and getting the right culture in place.
“Wakefield have got that spot on in so many different areas, and anyone that has got that culture spot on, that’s a safe bet for me.”
Director of Rugby Ste Mills added: “It’s unbelievable for the Club to welcome someone of Jack’s calibre as our new Head Coach, given his amazing track record as both a player and a coach.
“When you speak about Wheelchair Rugby League, even to those with a limited knowledge of the game, Jack is one of the faces that people recognise, and we know just how big of a name Jack is within the game.
“As you saw in the Grand Final last month, Jack is a phenomenal player and an incredible coach to lead our Wheelchair team.
“To bring Jack to Wakefield Trinity is a massive statement of intent from the Club.”
