NFL fines Falcons star Drake London for penalty vs. Buccaneers

The Atlanta Falcons are in Spain getting ready to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in an early kickoff, hoping to shake off the humiliating loss they suffered last week to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, the NFL has one last humiliation ritual for the Falcons to go through before they kickoff.

According to Marc Raimondi at ESPN, the league office has fined wide receiver Drake London $12,357 for an unnecessary roughness penalty against Tampa.

Fortunately, London isn't exactly hurting for cash. The new contract that he signed this past off-season included $100 million in guarantees, so $12 grand is just a drop in the bucket.

London has been relatively productive on the field this season, totaling 39 catches and 624 yards. He has only scored one touchdown, though. His catch rate of 61.9% is right in line with his career average (62.1%) and his 16.0 yards per reception is a new career high.
