Let's take a look back at Travis Hunter's performance in the Jaguars loss to the Texans, which included recording a touchdown and an interception.
One would guess that the performance we saw from Travis Hunter in the Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Texans game was what was envisioned when trading up to draft him at No. 2 overall last year.
With the Jaguars down 10 points early in the fourth quarter, Hunter hauled in a 26-yard completion to put Jacksonville in Houston territory. He then capped off that possession with a seven-yard touchdown catch -- his first of 2026.
On the ensuring Texans' offensive drive, with Houston about to make it a two-score game, Hunter undercut a throw from CJ Stroud, coming away with the interception in the end zone.
Hunter's role on offense was much bigger in this game, with him playing nine snaps, according to PFF's early tracking data, which included four receptions for 59 yards and a score. It was clear that Liam Coen wanted to get Hunter involved.
Defensively, Hunter continued to shoulder a larger role, playing 62 offensive snaps. He allowed just two receptions on four targets, but did surrender a 42-yard catch to Nico Collins. Hunter was in on four total tackles as well.
Hunter was also penalized as the 12th man on the field on a Houston punt attempt, which gave the Texans a first down and extended the second-half drive.
This season, Hunter has played 311 defensive snaps and 31 snaps on offense.
