As we continue to take a look back at the Jacksonville Jaguars' Week 6 performance against the Houston Texans, let's highlight some noteworthy snap count figures.
For the most part, when it comes to playing time, there aren't many huge surprises, but each week, particularly early on, there are a few things we can glean.
With help from PFF, here are a few quick notes from the Jaguars' snap count totals from Week 6.
Hunter's workload on offense still wasn't all that significant, with him playing just nine snaps -- although that was a season-high. But on those snaps, Liam Coen made sure to get Hunter involved with four receptions that turned into 59 yards and a touchdown. Hunter continued his full-time role on defense, playing all 62 snaps.
Thomas Jr. played only 15 snaps, according to ESPN, all of which came in the first half. He did not see the field in the third or fourth quarters. He finished the contest with two targets, no receptions, and a dropped pass.
Thomas Jr.'s lack of playing time against the Texans comes as Travis Hunter saw more snaps, while rookie Josh Cameron continues to earn more reps. Jacksonville also continues to lean into the two tight end sets. Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington lead the way at wide receiver.
Defensive end is typically a heavily rotated position with four or five players seeing snaps each week, and that was the case for the Jaguars on Sunday, with Dennis Gardeck, Bryan Thomas Jr., and Danny Striggow all seeing playing time. That said, Walker and Hines-Allen shouldered a heavy workload at this position, with each player being on the field for 56 of the 62 defensive snaps. Is this sustainable for the rest of the season? Or will others have to emerge?
