NFL fans have slammed Kelly Stafford as 'out of touch' after publicly bemoaning the Los Angeles Rams schedule.
The outspoken wife of quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford took to her Instagram Stories to complain about the makeup of their season.
The Rams take on the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, November 15 in Week 10 then are on a bye in Week 11.
However, they return to action on Wednesday, November 25, the day before Thanksgiving, against the Green Bay Packers, meaning just a ten-day turnaround on the bye rather than the full two-week gap most teams receive.
The Packers are also facing the same situation coming off a Week 11 bye in order to make the NFL's first Wednesday game possible.
Their schedule also faces three extended breaks between games due to primetime scheduling - but that hasn't stopped Kelly Stafford bemoaning perceived unfair treatment without the typical full bye week as she bemoaned 'even I need a week off'.
'I had to take a second off my workout because I keep getting updates and alerts like, 'Oh, after the bye week they'll be back, after the bye week he'll be healthy.' Not for the Rams, though, because they didn't get a bye week,' Kelly said.
'And if you're new to the NFL, a bye week is when they have the week off, so they play Sunday, then they don't play the next Sunday, then they play the Sunday after that.'
She then posted inviting responses to the question 'We didn't give the Rams a bye week because...' and tagged the NFL.
She wrote: 'Just curious to hear the thought process behind making the Rams the only team in the NFL without a true bye week.
'Because damn, after 18 years around this league, even I need a week off during the season... and I have never played a single snap. I'm tired just watching from the stands. Can't imagine how the guys feel.'
'Anyway, feel free to leave that explanation right here...'
She was widely slammed on social media as one fan wrote: 'And I thought the players are out of touch!'
Another called her a 'moaning millionaire' as one added: 'Relax your husband makes tens of millions of dollars to play 17 games a year.' Stafford signed a one-year, $55 million contract to return for the 2026 season.

Should NFL families get special consideration for tough schedules, or is it part of the game?
A fan of his former team, the Detroit Lions, added: 'Here's my annual reminder of why I'm glad they moved. She's a LOT. Girl stay home ffs if you need a week off. No one cares.'
A further comment read: 'Football season is 18 weeks with a bye. 52 weeks in a year. Husband makes a gazillon dollars.'
Another questioned her logic, saying: 'U dummy, rams are literally playing 1 game in almost 3 weeks. It's like having 2 bye weeks.'
'Schedule has been out since May and she's just now complaining,' one user replied. Another said: 'Packers have the same bye week. They then get a rest advantage vs their next two opponents. STFU Kelly.'
A further post said: 'Rough life having to watch the love of your life live out his dream every week.'
One fan also suggested she might benefit from unexpected time off during the postseason, with the preseason Super Bowl favorites currently 4-4 after a tough start to the season. They wrote: 'It's fine at this rate she'll have all of January as the bye month.'
