The Golden State Warriors will open the regular-season without one of their core pieces in the front court, Kristaps Porzingis. The Latvian big man has missed all of the preseason after being ruled out indefinitely with a health issue at the start of training camp. Porzingis and the Warriors have yet to reveal any type of timeline regarding the veteran big man's potential return to the court.
On Monday, Steve Kerr revealed Porzingis won't travel with the Warriors for their regular-season opener on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers.
During training camp, Porzingis reportedely made a trip to the Warriors' facility in the Bay Area to meet with general manager Mike Dunleavy and Golden State director of sports medicine and performance, Rick Celebrini. Porzingis also recently took to social media to share a message regarding his health issue that has kept him out of the preseason and now the start of the regular season.

Porzingis joined the Warriors last season at the trade deadline in a deal with the Atlanta Hawks that involved Jonathan Kuminga. Porzingis played 15 games with the Warriors last season, averaging 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 23.7 minutes per game.
Without Porzingis, the Warriors will have to lean on Draymond Green, Al Horford, Gui Santos, Georges Niang and rookie Yaxel Lendeborg in the frontcourt to start the season.
