After limping off the field late in the fourth quarter of last Thursday's win over the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Jonah Elliss was spotted wearing a walking boot and using crutches at the Colorado-Utah college football game in Boulder on Saturday evening.
Elliss, of course, played at Utah from 2021-2023 before being drafted by the Broncos in the third round of the 2024 NFL draft. The details of his specific injury are not yet known, but he was wearing a boot on his right foot.
If the Broncos believe Elliss could miss four or more games, he will be a candidate for injured reserve. Players who land on IR during the season have to sit out at least four games before being eligible to return.
Elliss started the first six games of the season, totaling 12 tackles, one sack and one pass breakup. Elliss was in a starting role while Jonathon Cooper was on the commissioner’s exempt list. Cooper was reinstated by the NFL last week, and he will be eligible to play against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7.
