Both Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer got their names on the score sheet on Saturday as Chelsea beat Manchester United at Stamford Bridge – but who will score more goals?
Rogers opened the scoring on Saturday with a stunning solo run and finish. The England star has spoken of how Joao Pedro is trying to get him to finish with a chip in training, and against Man United, it worked.
Palmer then took the responsibility of scoring a penalty and securing a comfortable win. He did that, just about, even if Senne Lammens got two hands on the ball. Both have six goals and assists in the league.
In all competitions, Rogers is leading the way – but only just. He has six goals and four assists, already matching Mason Mount’s 10 involvements at United. Rogers has played 12 games, Mount has played 80.
Rogers has five goals in nine Premier League games, and one assist. Meanwhile, Palmer has nine goals and assists in all competitions, but in the Premier League, he has three goals and three assists so far.

With his best mate Morgan Rogers announced, how many goals and assists does Cole Palmer get this season?👀
Ahead of Sunderland, Palmer and Rogers are on six league involvements. After the win over Man United, Rogers was asked: “Nothing like a bit of friendly competition. Who is winning at the end of the season?”
Rogers replied to the Premier League’s social media: “I don’t know [chuckling]. I don’t mind as long as we are winning games, to be honest. I don’t think it’s something we’re really focused on, but I’ll take it.”
The duo are only separated by a few minutes of game time in the Premier League, both between 790 and 800 minutes, so it is difficult to extrapolate a winner from that. Palmer does take the penalties, however.
But most Chelsea fans would agree that after Saturday, Rogers is the one currently showing better form. Incredibly, their XG is 0.01 different in the Premier League: Palmer has 2.40, and Rogers has a total of 2.41.
Rogers has an XA of 1.44, 0.37 more than Palmer (1.07). But Palmer has created more chances (20 to 17) and big chances (six to two). It’s a tough call, but given Palmer is on penalties, he might just edge Rogers.
