Who’s buying, who’s selling and who’s trying to figure things out at NFL trade deadline
Jonathan Taylor (28) of the Indianapolis Colts runs with the ball past Isaiah Rodgers (2) of the Minnesota Vikings to score a touchdown in the first quarter of an NFL football game at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026.
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (28) ran for more than 3,000 yards combined in the 2024 and '25 seasons.

The NFL moved its trade deadline back one week in 2024, but the Colts just moved up the action by two weeks.

Instead of waiting until the days before the Nov. 10 deadline and hoping to squeeze out bigger returns from a desperate suitor, Colts interim general manager Ed Dodds imploded the roster by trading guard Quenton Nelson (Seahawks) and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (49ers). Tanking would make sense — if the Colts hadn’t previously traded their first-round pick to the Jets.

Then the Bears convinced the Titans to be early sellers, seizing a chance to get an extra game out of All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons even if it meant trading two first-round picks to do so.

What other teams are going to join the Colts and Bears in the sellers’ market? Who are the buyers? What teams could play both sides?
