Roberto De Zerbi could welcome back Tottenham defender Pedro Porro against Chelsea this weekend, while Omar Marmoush should also be fit.
Porro has not featured for Spurs since sustaining a hamstring injury during the 3-2 loss to Aston Villa before the extended autumn international break.
The Spaniard did tease an imminent return to action last week, but Monday night’s win over Coventry - Tottenham’s first in the league this season - came too soon, with the trip to Stamford Bridge penciled in as his potential comeback date.
"Pedro Porro, I think he's coming - maybe in Chelsea he can play,” De Zerbi told reporters.
It would appear that Porro is in contention to make the matchday squad for Saturday’s London derby as he was put through his paces during a training session at Hotspur Way on Thursday.
De Zerbi is expected to provide an update on Porro in his pre-match press conference on Friday, though having his first-choice right-back available for selection would be a massive boost.
Also present in the session was on-loan forward Omar Marmoush.
The Egyptian, who scored to restore Spurs’ lead on Monday night, was seen clutching his right calf upon being replaced by Mathys Tel in the closing stages against Coventry.
De Zerbi was, however, quick to downplay any injury fears, with Andy Robertson and Tosin Adarabioyo also forced off in the second half.
“No, no, no, I think there are no injuries, nothing important,” the Tottenham head coach said in his post-match press conference.
Spurs are set to be without the injured quintet of Lucas Bergvall, Savio, Wilson Odobert, Xavi Simons and Mykhailo Mudryk against Chelsea but Destiny Udogie is a doubt after not being risked in the win over Coventry.
Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended after being sent-off in the 1-1 draw against Manchester United, while Dejan Kulusevski could be on the bench once again after a cameo earlier in the week.
