The Switzerland Under-21 player began his senior career at Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund before moving to Basel in 2022, with a loan spell at Grasshopper, before joining Wycombe in the summer of 2025.
The 23-year-old signed for the Dark Blues on a season-long loan from the EFL League One side in August and made his debut the same day, coming off the bench in an away victory in the Dundee derby.
Fink subsequently scored twice, in the 2-1 defeat by Hearts and the 2-1 win over Motherwell, and ahead of the visit of Rangers in the William Hill Premiership on Saturday night he was asked about the things he had learned in his career with some stellar clubs so far.
He said: “I think it sounds boring, but doing the basics.
“If you do the basics good, you’ll have a good game as a centre-forward, hold up the ball, if you lay it off the team can have a breather, get a foul out of it, run deep, be different.
“Not just doing one thing good but doing multiple things good. I think being an aerial threat, being one that can also run in behind, maybe drop down as a false nine.
“Most important is that the defenders don’t know what they can do against you and if that’s a weapon, I think there’s a very good chance of you being a good striker at some point.
“I have loved every second, obviously it couldn’t have started better with the derby win. I wasn’t even 24 hours here so it was a good start.
“Just living here, I love the people here. It’s a very nice city. I’m enjoying it, not only the football, also the time off the pitch, also when (with) my team-mates, doing a few things with them, so it’s very enjoyable.”
