Leicester City thumped Bromley 4-0 on Tuesday evening.
Russell Martin’s side have now won back-to-back games in League One, and it looks as though they could motor on towards the summit of the division.
Martin has changed shape to a three-at-the-back, and it’s paying dividends as City are a lot more comfortable defensively.
Going forward, they are a lot more potent and against Bromley, there were four different goalscorers in Will Alves, John Lundstram, Luke Thomas and Emil Riis.
With that said, here are our player ratings from Leicester’s 4-0 win at Bromley.
Probably the most comfortable game Alex McCarthy will have all season. The former Southampton shot-stopper was completely untested, but he deserves credit for his distribution.
McCarthy built out from the back nicely and was much more accurate with his kicking.
Will Alves had his best game in a Leicester City shirt. Since converting to a right-wing back, Alves has taken his game to another level.
The former England youth international had the beating of his man all game and used his pace well to get in behind on a number of occasions with smart movement.
Alves took his goal really well.
Warren O’Hora has been really shaky since joining from Hibs, but today he was ultra composed playing out from the back and equally as strong defensively.
Like O’Hora, Harry Souttar won virtually every duel and played through the lines well. Souttar certainly looked like a Championship defender playing below his standard.
Caleb Okoli was a magnet this evening. Every single ball Bromley sent long, Okoli was there to meet it and win back possession.
The former Atalanta defender visibly gained confidence as the game went on and started to clip balls off both feet. He also drove forward on a few occasions and showed he can operate in a possession-based side.
Luke Thomas got on the scoresheet today and should’ve scored a brace from left wing-back, as he missed a one-on-one.
John Lundstram now has three goals in his first five Leicester appearances, which is impressive for a defensive midfielder.
Lundstram has been one of City’s standout performers this term, and tonight he produced another steely display in the middle of the park.
The 32-year-old is so cool under pressure and plays through the lines off both feet exceptionally well.
Louis Page was constantly showing for the ball and spinning on the half-turn away from the press. Page played a key role in opening up the game and playing line-breaking passes in behind.
A mature performance from the 18-year-old, who is developing at a rapid rate.
Man of the Match goes to Sammy Braybrooke, who laid on a hat-trick of assists. The 22-year-old picked up great pockets in the final third and made several clever runs in behind.
Braybrooke probably should’ve scored, but aside from that, he was near perfect. The complete midfield performance.
Kamari Doyle had a quieter game after his super display against Doncaster Rovers at the weekend, but he still created a few good opportunities for his teammates.
It feels harsh to give Emil Riis a six considering he scored a neat goal, but the rest of his play was well below his usual standards.
Riis missed a couple of super opportunities and looked a little clumsy in possession. Even on his worst day, it’s encouraging he’s still able to put the ball in the back of the net.
