The Men's ODI World Cup Qualifier playoff will be held in Nepal in December, the ICC confirmed on Friday (November 6). The tournament will kickstart on December 4 with the hosts taking on Italy at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground. Simultaneously, Namibia will face Uganda at the Mulapani Cricket Ground.

Canada, Kuwait, Jersey and the United Arab Emirates are the other four teams in the competition. These eight sides will fight for the last four spots available in the 2027 ODI World Cup Qualifier.

The 10-team qualifier already has Ireland and West Indies as the two highest-ranked teams outside the eight automatic World Cup qualifiers, excluding Full Member hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe. The USA, Scotland, the Netherlands and Oman have qualified from the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2.

The winner of the 10-team global qualifier will qualify directly to the group stages of the ODI World Cup to be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia next year. The teams finishing second, third and fourth in the global qualifier will enter the Super Series.
