The 2-4 New York Jets desperately need a strong offensive performance versus the 0-5 Miami Dolphins in Week 7.
The winless Dolphins are in contention for the No. 1 overall selection in the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, Jets fans are beginning to question head coach Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Frank Reich.
The Jets badly need a victory on Sunday and these players could make the difference whether or not that happens.
Jets Wire has identified three players who are potential X-factors for the offense in Week 7:
Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell was finally a limited participant at Wednesday's practice. That strongly indicates he'll return from a multi-week stint on the sidelines against the Dolphins this weekend. This Jets passing attack badly needs a jolt of energy; perhaps Mitchell can provide it.
Meanwhile, star running back Breece Hall still isn't practicing. He did recently provide a teased update on social media that indicates he's close to returning. Perhaps it'll be this weekend. If it's not, it'll be another week of Braelon Allen dominating the touches. Allen has performed very admirably throughout this stretch of opportunity.
With Kenyon Sadiq still struggling to make weekly impacts, sophomore TE Mason Taylor has been more involved. Taylor has seven receptions for 57 yards combined over the previous two contests. He's been a reliable outlet for QB Geno Smith.
