Spurs’ confidence boosted after Marbella trip, reveals Gray

Archie Gray revealed Tottenham's trip to Marbella during the international break played a big role in their recent resurgence.

Spurs have moved up to eighth in the Premier League after defeating 10-man Crystal Palace 2-0 on Saturday, with Gray getting on the scoresheet.

Roberto De Zerbi's side have won their last three league games and have gone unbeaten in four since returning from the international break (D1).

Spurs have won three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since February 2025; it is as many wins as they had in their previous 26 combined (D10 L13).

They recorded 34 shots against Palace, the most they have had in a Premier League game since February 2016 (34 v Swansea City), and obtained 79.4% possession, their second-highest on record (since 2003-04) in a Premier League match (80.2% v Newcastle in August 2019).

Spurs survived relegation from the top flight on the final day of the 2025-26 campaign, but with the wind now in their sails, Gray believes the players are growing closer.

"I think it's a really important time for us. I think we have improved so much over the past couple of weeks," Gray told SpursPlay.

"We're more of a team, we're more together and yeah, we're just performing better because we're work for each other on the pitch.

"The Marbella trip would have obviously helped and just getting to know each other. Being like almost brothers on the pitch, that's something the gaffer talks about all the time and that is what we're trying to do.

"We all get on really well and you can see that out there on the pitch. Even with the celebration, all the subs are running to the players and they are little things that mean so much to us. That's the most important thing and why we've been improving.

"It's really important to get three wins on the bounce. It hasn't happened for quite a long time and to do that was really important."
