You have to cast your mind back to March 2011 for the last time the Nuevo Colombino hosted a meeting between Recreativo and Rayo Vallecano, when both sides were plying their trade in the Segunda Division.

Their last cup encounter dates back even further to the 1977-78 campaign, when the Huelva outfit sealed a 3-1 aggregate triumph following a goalless first leg.

Today, the gulf between both clubs is monumental. While one side has reached a Conference League final, the other can only dream of clawing their way back into the professional ranks in the years ahead.
