‘These Guys Don’t Watch Any Games,’ ‘Time To Retire’ — NFL Fans Slam Terry Bradshaw’s ‘Terrible Take’ On Dak Prescott, Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are coming off a disappointing 2025 season in which they finished 7-9-1 and missed the playoffs, but 2026 was supposed to be different for the franchise. It still can be, but starting the season 2-4, the pressure is on to make that happen.

When looking at the reasons for these struggles, quarterback Dak Prescott is not a name many bring up in that conversation. But Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw does think Prescott is part of the problem.

Fans Push Back on Terry Bradshaw’s Comments About Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys

First, PFN’s Offensive Impact Metric ranks the Cowboys 4th overall, with Prescott 12th among QBs this season.

Prescott has been near the top in interceptions, but some have been tipped or due to the receiver. Now, looking at the Cowboys’ defense, they rank last in PFN’s Defensive Impact Metric.

It’s clear that Prescott is not the source of the Cowboys’ issues, but as I mentioned earlier, Bradshaw thinks otherwise.

During a conversation about Dallas’ season, Bradshaw slammed the Cowboys for celebrating Prescott moving into first place on the team’s all-time passing touchdown list, arguing that this should be done after the season and that winning should be the focus. He also criticized the offense while saying the defense is doing really well.

After these comments, the NFL fans had some strong reactions:

One fan called out Cowboys owner Jerry Jones as the reason for the team’s issues and defended Prescott for celebrating the record, “Ah yes, it is Dak Prescott’s fault that they celebrated the record on the coach’s decision, not Mr. Jones, who has been a loser GM for 30 years and never won without a team crafted without Jimmy. Makes sense, Terry!”

One fan addressed Bradshaw’s comments about Dallas’ defense, explaining that opposing offenses actually had some drops that would have made the performance look worse, “The defense is playing really good is quite a stretch. They had two or three drop touchdowns against that defense. That game could have looked much worse than it did.”

Another fan joined the conversation about the defense and claimed that Bradshaw does not actually watch the games, ” ‘defense is playing really good’, yeah these guys don’t watch any games.”

One fan focused on the celebration aspect of Bradshaw’s comments and explained why it makes sense that the Cowboys celebrated after the moment happened: “What an awful take. Of course, you celebrate something in the moment. If someone broke the all-time hits record in baseball, would they say ‘Let’s not celebrate until we win the World Series?’ Come on. No one was saying they’re satisfied or the hell with the season. Just congrats.”

One fan felt that after these comments, it’s time for Bradshaw to retire, “Time to retire, Terry.”

One Cowboys fan defended Prescott and the timing, citing how difficult it is for a QB to make it in the NFL and that type of achievement should be celebrated, “This is a terrible take. It’s hard enough making it to the NFL, let alone being a starter as a QB. Dak and the Team had every right to celebrate that milestone.”

Overall, the NFL fans agreed that Bradshaw’s take on the Cowboys’ struggles was wrong. As laid out earlier, the Cowboys’ offense hasn’t been the issue, and Prescott is having a good season.

As for the celebration of Prescott’s milestone, it would have been much worse if the team hadn’t celebrated. Team chemistry can go a long way, and it’s clear this team believes in their QB.
